Last updated September 29, 2026. Reviews in the vendor directory come from couples who hired the business. This page explains who can write one, what gets published, what gets removed, and what happens after you press send.
Who can write a review
Anyone who used a business in the directory for their own wedding or a related event, such as an engagement shoot, a rehearsal dinner or a bridal fitting. You will be asked to confirm that you used the business yourself and that nobody paid you or gave you anything for the review.
You do not have to write a word. A star rating on its own is welcome, and the month you used the business and what you used it for help the next couple read it in context.
What happens after you send it
A person reads every review before it appears, usually within 2 business days. Nothing is published automatically.
If it is published, the listing shows your first name and last initial, the month you used the business, what you used it for, your rating and anything you wrote. Your email address is never shown. It is used only to keep to one review per person for each business, and to write to you if a question comes up.
Why reviews are held first
Holding each review for a read keeps a sudden wave of angry or invented reviews from burying a small business, and it keeps the reviews you read trustworthy. If several reviews arrive for one business in a short time, they are read side by side. Where it is unclear whether someone used the business, we may email to ask what they used it for and when. A review is published once that is settled.
What gets published
First-hand reviews, good or bad. A one-star review is published the same way as a five-star one, and a review is never turned down because of its rating. Edits are light: a typo or a stray phone number. What you said stays as you said it.
What gets removed
- Reviews from the business's owner, staff, relatives or competitors.
- Reviews written in return for payment, a discount, a gift or any other reward, and reviews a business asked for in exchange for something. The FTC's rule on consumer reviews and testimonials (16 CFR Part 465) makes reviews like these unlawful.
- A second review from the same person for the same business.
- Threats, hate, insults aimed at a person, and personal details such as phone numbers or home addresses.
- Anything that is not about working with the business.
Replies from the business
A business that has claimed its listing can post one reply under each review. Replies follow the same rules as reviews, and a business cannot delete or hide a review.
Reporting a review
If a published review breaks one of these rules, tell us through the contact form. Give the business name and the month of the review. It is checked against this page, not against its rating, and removed if it breaks a rule.
